Finally after it seems forever I know a couple of things, 1. I cannot afford to buy the land where we are and 2. We will be moving, probably sooner rather than later. So, that said let’s tell you what has happened! Standby to Enjoy!
Club Wairua is a social enterprise. That means a business but one established to do good things. We are a private members club, meaning that we trade (buy and sell) for the benefit of our members. Most people think they know what this really means but most don’t, especially when it comes to helping out others monetarily. Many will look at the buck to join and a buck year ask themselves what the catch is. There is none because there is no need to make a profit from our members! Once you’re in, go for it. Use the club resources and simply pay the club how you want.
Once the commercial negotiations are complete I’ll share more about the new location but we are downsizing and going a little more ‘off the mainline’ than previous options.
The major change has come about as a result of me forced to slow down, in Q1 of 2023 I went into Waikato Hospital for an infected leg and came out 1/4 blind and slowed right down having had a “medical misadventure”.
The first stage is to resurrect the Tiny House concept. Temporary, Permanent it matters not really, as long as the Council requirements are all met that’s fine. This requires a Tiny House manufacturer who ‘gets it’.

Club Wairua Ltd is a social enterprise based in the King Country, run by retired IT Entrepreneur Dennis A. Smith. We are seeking a business partnership with an established Tiny House manufacturer/provider (or similar) seeking to display their products within the King Country (Central North Island) region. You may have only one product or a full range including Houses on Wheels, Skids, Container conversions, Mobiles and more. Finance to the public would be an advantage. Critical to your operation will be a desire to ‘help others’. Profit comes secondary for all Club Members, something not always truly understood by those of us with human frailties. Financial: Key money $90k – fully refundable on up to a year’s notice. Club membership: $1.00 per year and $1.00 to join. On going as it suits us both. Minimum commitment is one permitted display home/unit on site (Club Rules). Maximum for the entire site = ten. (Council Regs)
My desire is to have a zero risk operation that benefits all parties.
