In this post I quote a digital communication word for word received recently from a Canadian reader that brought me to tears, literally. I share my personal response to her appreciation (anonymously) and explain the impact that just one person doing the right thing can have, indeed does have on others. For those seeking to save the planet this post has HUGELY important lessons. Enjoy!
I recently received an email communication from a Canadian woman of similar age to me who has spent a bit of time digesting my work. Good on her. I like it when people appreciate others. I’ll go through this email piece by piece shortly but in essence she shares her recent life experiences getting “zapped” as I called it and becoming a Christian as a result, sort of involuntarily. I doubt that anybody really WANTS to become an enemy of the bulk of the world and to be laughed at, socially ostracised or targeted as a result of simply standing up and speaking the truth as they find it, but hey, that’s what the Master told us would happen so who am I to quibble!
The timing of this lady’s communication is really interesting to me in that yesterday I stood before a High Court judge claiming innocence in a dopey court case where I’m smack in the middle of exposing corruption in the judiciary or probably more likely the legal fraternity in New Plymouth.
My day started with a claim from a young builder that I knew and helped back in 2019 claiming that he owned some scrap steel that someone had asked me to take off his property earlier in the year. He got a bit titchy when I told him to cool down and come back when he was ready to talk reasonably, and so he called the cops on me. The local Bobbys seemed all too keen to arrest me for burglary, then theft when I proved that I was authorised by the landovwner, or seemingly anything else as a result of talking to this guy, and I didn’t mince any words with them all, so it has been a challenging time recently!
My new correspondent sent me the following note of support:
Greetings from a Christian sister in Canada
Hi Dennis, I’m [name withheld]. I found your website a few days ago. The old one (.co.nz).
So with a subject line and intro like that is it any wonder that Google slipped this email into SPAM! I too fully expected this to be another note from Nigeria, but it wasn’t!
I came to it after a two day exploration of Victor and The Path of Truth website.
While obviously I knew that the potential existed for Internet words to exist and be used for years, indeed I taught this for years at the top of the web development industry at the time, it always catches me out when people like this just wander in and engage! I think the world would show a lot more wisdom if we realised that everything we said, thought and did would be recorded for posterity and could never be erased before the end of time, Internet or no Internet.
I’ve enjoyed your writings there concerning Victor and his ministry and very much agree with your insights and offerings concerning a lot of that.
My engagement with Victor was a very serious affair at the time and I do not know exactly what my role has been in terms of direct Christian impact, but it most definitely has been enormous in terms of helping many who have had issues resulting from their own engagement with what many call a cult. It’s hard for me to quantify this influence because I generally only deal with that directly in front of me but it is certainly many dozens, perhaps even a hundred or so that I know of who have had the opportunity to digest my analysis. There’s surely many more that have read and not engaged directly.
Reading your straightforward assessment of Victor’s ministry – the Other Side is what I think you call it, was very helpful and has encouraged me to go back and read more of his writings, which, I agree with you are logically sound, well laid our arguments for the way that he sees things many which I see eye to eye with him on as well. Not all… 🙂
These words are extraordinary to me, and I’ll tell you why . . . this lady has gone back into Victor’s words, and teachings and done the hard yards for herself. She has only been a Christian for a couple of years and has the proverbial to do this? Wow! The best way to understand how special this is, is to realise that nobody will usually ever accept that somebody has anything to contribute if they have hurt them, or have gotten something wrong. We all prejudge others, especially when we think and say that we don’t. For the record, I concur with this lady’s analysis that Victor gets a lot right. Victor strikes me as an intelligent reasoned collector of Christian fringe theories who has successfully stitched them into one coherent message, but that he has human relationship issues. He’s quite ‘different’! He does most definitely run a Christian Ministry but just because he may be a fruitloop, or have pyschiatric issues or judges others harshly doesn’t mean that he doesn’t know or listen to or obey the Master! My new friend shows real maturity and humility here. I’m impressed.
His style, though, is another story. Abrasive, to say the least.
Confrontational yes. My take is that he is unique and with his psychiatric issues, personal experiences including Eastern European Catholic-type up-bringing and his hugely successful Ministry growth with his unusually-talented (but now discredited) offsider, Paul, he does err and struggle in the human relations department. While most normal people will eventually see hypocrisy in themselves when confronted with it, I’ve noted that those with psychiatric issues have the capacity for serious cognitive dissonance and simply cannot. Hypocrisy is usually always something that those who have engaged with Path of Truth complain about.
I think of this scripture: 1 Cor 13:2 – “And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”
Indeed, and the way I put it is thus: I see two aspects of faith, one truth and the other love. The only place I have ever found the two of them in equal measure is on the cross of Christ! When life forces us to deal with psychiatric issues – either in ourselves or those around us in family work or socially – we grow in understanding and we tend to become less judgmental and harsh as a result.
Your testimony reminds me very much of my own. I got ‘zapped’ by Lord Jesus Christ in March 2019 at 57 years old! And your use of the word ‘zapped’ exactly describes my own experience. Totally out of the blue, nothing to do with me, while I was listening to scripture being read through ear buds in the middle of a sleepless night, accompanied by suspension outside of time and space, the felt presence of the Lord right there with me and a burst that originated in my heart then emanated through the rest of my entire body. Rubber hit the road that night and I have never looked back.
One of the amazing things about the Christian walk is our increasing realisation that while we may think that we chose this, or that we did something is that really, it was Him. This correspondent is a really, really lucky lady to have had this experience but she shows her wisdom by acknowledging that she was just a recipient, when she got “zapped”!
I’m also stoked that she has boxed on because the wilderness experience similar to the which Paul (and most of us all experienced) takes many away . . . she gets it as you can see here:
Jesus Christ is all in all and I have spent the ensuing two and a bit years independently learning from Him, going where He leads, etc. I completely ‘GET’ Paul. The whole shebang from his experience on the road to Damascus to his private, one to one discipling by the Lord.
Her experiences one-to-one have greater significance here, which I would just like to share for a minute after she has explained more, if that’s OK with you – and thanks for asking!
I was saved in relative isolation. I did not go to church (I was heavily involved in the New Age as a career psychic medium actually) didn’t know another Christian, but, by God’s grace, picked up a Bible in July 2018 and read it. He revealed Himself to me entirely through the scriptures. Then He zapped me! 🙂
If you look at the trends within Christianity over say the last 100 – 150 years you can see a rise and fall of the power of protestant denominations as they have come, done their stuff and largely gone by the wayside as their success has been fleeting, or related to an individual.
Growth has occurred in certain demographics and countries as their various business models achieved acceptance at various times and places. There have been some amazing stories and reports of this sort of thing happening, (zapping I mean) particularly from within countries supposedly secular and/or communist and firmly against personal faith (USSR, China & Islaamic countries. for example) but it is always individuals responding to the direct leading from the Holy Spirit that achieves His real purposes.
It seems to me that He works through organisations in spite of their idiosyncrasies not because of them and as a “career psychic medium” (as she calls it) my new friend is sensitive to Him and is reaping the rewards from her newfound faith, probably “newly redirected” may perhaps be the better way of putting it.
It has been and continues to be an amazing journey with the Lord. He has patiently led me out of several false doctrines that I fell into shortly after being saved. Satan’s sneaky and it’s easy to fall into that stuff unfortunately, (as so many do) but I am a maniacal truth seeker and I trust and have ALL faith in the Lord. He has been so good to me.
If I was to find one thing that unites everyone that speaks to me after seeking truth at the Path of Truth Ministries, it is their huge. even unnatural and genuine focus on truth seeking. This correspondent uses the descriptive phrase, “a maniacal truth seeker” which is accurate for many who digest Path of Truth teaching and materials.
In this regard the breakthrough came for me when I got zapped at the age of 20 and came to understand that truth was not just a mere concept. A person claimed to actually BE the Truth and that was the turning point for me. Victor Haffichuk is dead right in this regard when he talks to his followers about the difference between seeking truth and knowing Him. Victor’s certainly not as strong as he could be on the love side, but (assuming that we grow normally and do not have psychiatric issues) as we mature, we always bring these two aspects into greater balance.
My new friend will also find this, I hope!
I am not a church goer either. I did for a while and had some lovely and loving brothers and sisters (though there was aTON of error being taught and studied) but we moved away across the country and I have not felt the call to seek out a church where I am now. Not one little twinge. I relate with a lot that you have written about that part of your own life.
When I was in Samoa, (2009 – 2016) I wrote and developed the book and training programme, ESCAPE the CHURCH. The essence of this teaching is that any system (such as a denomination, church, school, philosophy, even a physical life like an animal or bird, has a defence mechanism in order to survive, otherwise it cannot exist. By design this very defence mechanism though is the thing that stops the direct loving relationship with the Master. It’s not that it is totally stopped – of course individuals can always believe differently to those around them – but they do naturally modify their values and behaviour to conform to their social norms. This is who we are as humans.
The problem is that any leadership system, and I mean this ANY, leadership involves systems that must by their very nature filter a message to their adherents. Money matters, politics, theology, social norms, matters of worship, calling, obedience and lifestyle are all, whether we like it or not are influenced by that leadership.
It’s not that any one leader is right or wrong; or that any one denomination has something special (like speaking in tongues or water baptism or the authority of the Pope or a pedigree of miracles) it is that we must, if we are to be fully obedient get to the place where nothing comes before our obedience to His calling.
This is not a negative thing, nor a call to rebellion and support of anarchy, it is a return to obedience to the Father. We are often taught to obey the authorities (or we go to jail) and we are encouraged to stay within the fold, for a gazillion reasons, but the cry of the Lord is to pull the coals out of the fire, so that they can all establish fires of their own. Of course there is risk but He’s been there, gone before us and done it for us so I’m happy to trust Him!
Thank you for your website. Glad that I found you.
You (this lady) has made my day. It’s been a while since I’ve had this level of appreciation and it has touched a raw nerve for me.
Prior to being saved I spent many years researching the debt money system, the Holocaust, and a number of the other things that you write about.
This woman is clearly a thinker. She deserves to have gotten where she has because she has done the hard yards. Most don’t.
The debt money system is the money power representation of evil on earth. The evil one tempted Christ with a financial offer that He rejected. If money is the result of our labours in the West- if it measures value that we create for the world, then this is much more effectively utilised from outside of the current system. This financial system is currently undergoing a substantial change but the replacements being brought in are not based on Godly principles and are simply another side of the same old coin.
The three central claims of Holocaust proponents lack validity – that a) Hitler ordered and executed b) six million Jews which was carried out by way of c) Zyklon-B gassing. Those who have done the research and who are honest all agree that there is no genuine uncontestable evidence of these three claims. That Hitler never instructed the Jews to be targeted and killed is beyond doubt, no evidence is even acknowledged by Holocaust proponents. The six million figure is nothing more that a long-term marketing meme totally fabricated and validated by nonsense and the death by gassing story can be proven to be utter BS as no-one has ever explained how it was technically possible to gas people as the MSM claim. It’s simply physically impossible. This is not to say that Adolf was an angel or that almost a century later someone (like me) is an anti-something because I ask questions but I tell you, if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck …
Your writings are thorough and so well done. Lots and lots has gone into all that on your part. Thank you, thank you. Your sister in Christ, [name withheld].
Thorough . . . lots and lots gone into it all – yes. True.
I also know that you know what it takes to write and publish 2.5 million words, 36 books and all the while standing up to crooks, crims & crazies.
Thanks to you too! It’s ‘really neat’ to have had you swing by today sister, and to know that you are appreciative.
